My Process

Design Doing

I love Design Thinking but to be successful you need to understand Design Doing.

What I have learned over the years are techniques to take workshop and user research findings and create strategies to implement them..

These techniques can be used in any situation, not just a large projects. I have the ability to advocate for good design for any size project leveraging whatever resources I have at my disposal.

Facilitation

I have experience facilitating and co-facilitating virtual and in-person sessions for both small and large working groups

I can prepare materials and Mural templates for remote Design Thinking sessions

I keep the participants engaged (including 100 + easily distracted Humber students) through careful preparation and attention to audience needs

Understand the Business

Interview the stakeholders to learn about their views on the product and the customer

Understand what  fundamental assumptions about the product they want to challenge. Also understand what they don’t want to challenge (eg lending to people with poor credit)

Go to Tools: Interview script, Design Brief, OKRs, Lean Canvas, Current State Journey Maps

Actionable Insights

I directly tie key observations into actionable insights activities that fed into ideation and co-creation

Go to tools: Affinity Maps, Prioritisation Grids, Design Blueprints, Brainstorming, Crazy 8s, Mindsets, Future state journey maps
